Physical Exhibit at the Early American Museum

Picture

This is a picture that documents how the physical exhibit was laid out. The women's pictures and biographies were placed together to imagine a quilt, which has historical symbolism for the Black community. Quilts are used to demonstrate and show the history of a family and/or community. Furthermore, there has been debate about the use of quilts to help the enslaved African Americans reach freedom in the North and Canada.
